AMSOIL EAO and EA15K Oil Filters
Unless you’ve been living under a bush, you probably know about the shipping delays, manufacturing challenges with obtaining raw materials and distribution chain backorders. AMSOIL too has had some difficulty with certain products, and especially the EA Oil Filters. AMSOIL manufactures a full line of high performance oils filters for cars and trucks and some heavy equipment. These filters are made with higher quality and performance features such as increased capacity for holding contaminants and more filtration efficiency (99%@20 micron) The AMSOIL EA filters are designed with extended oil drains in mind and can last either 15,000 miles (EA15K) or up to 25,000 miles EAO or one year whichever comes first.
That being said, AMSOIL also offers the ability to order Wix brand oil filters for applications where the EA filters are not available. Wix filters offers top tier performance at a great price point. These filters work great with AMSOIL synthetic lubricants. Many people are unsure of the suggested oil drain interval for Wix filters, but with the statement from AMSOIL below you and rest assured your still getting great protection as well as performance from Wix filters when the EA filters are not available for your application or if AMSOIL EA filters happen to be temporarily backordered.
AMSOIL: We understand your frustration, and we are frustrated too. Some AMSOIL Oil Filters have been out of stock for a few weeks in the past, but are available once again. If you’re currently using a WIX oil filter with AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil, we recommend changing the filter at 12,000 miles or one year. If you have decided to utilize the extended drain feature of AMSOIL Signature series, easiest thing to do is purchase an additional quart and 2 oil filters. At 12,000 miles just change the filter and top off the oil to replace what was lost in the filter. (Note, because your filter is located higher than your drain pan you will not lost all of your oil if you replace the filter. Depending on the size of the filter you will have to replace 1/4 to 1/2 a quart for most passenger cars) (Also note it’s normally easier to change the filter on a cold engine when most of the oil has drained back to the oil pan.)
Supply chain issues are creating significant challenges for the entire industry. All manufacturing components are in short supply. As a result, you may see some AMSOIL products temporarily placed on backorder. In these cases, we encourage you to continue checking AMSOIL.com (AMSOIL.ca in Canada) for availability. We are doing all we can to ensure all products are available as soon as possible. The majority of AMSOIL products are available as normal and we expect that to continue; despite our best efforts, however, supplies of raw materials for grease, aerosols and filters continue to pose challenges and likely will for a few more months. Thank you for understanding; we apologize for the inconvenience.
